Content Creation - CertainlyLaz

As a creative kid who grew up on the internet, I was naturally drawn to using this strange platform as a way to express myself - and in doing so, quickly fell into the rabbit-hole of analytics, retention, and statistics.

By paying attention to content niches and the audience’s demands, I was able to amass over 10 million views in a 90 day period.

My current YouTube Project is a series of video essays on tech I’m interested in, rendered using Blender 3D.

Content Sprint: Minecraft News Reporting

For a long time, I’d been paying attention to how the streaming ecosystem worked - specifically, in the culture surrounding the videogame minecraft. Streams are live events, where if you miss what happens live, then you’ve missed a big part of the surrounding “fandom”.

Seeing this as a unserved niche for the fandom, I decided to start creating “catchup” news content. Over the course of 6 months, I posted daily content about the big Minecraft Server at the time, packaged as news updates.

Within 60 days of posting, I was receiving over 100,000 views a day - finally ammassing 15.1 million views on YouTube, and over 1.8 million likes on TikTok by the end of the sprint.
